The Adoption Process

Adopting a kitten is a meaningful step, and we strive to make the process as transparent and joyful as possible.

Step 1: Inquiry
If you see a kitten you are interested in, use the Contact Us form or email to inquire. We will provide additional photos, videos, and details about the kitten’s personality.

Step 2: Application
We ask a few questions about your household, experience with cats, and lifestyle. This ensures we match each kitten with the right family.

Step 3: Reservation Deposit
Once approved, a refundable deposit secures your chosen kitten. This deposit ensures the kitten is held exclusively for you. Deposit amounts and payment methods are explained clearly during this stage.

Step 4: Preparation and Updates
Between reservation and adoption day, we keep you updated with photos and notes about your kitten’s development. This helps you connect with them even before they arrive home.

Step 5: Adoption Day
At 10–14 weeks of age, kittens are ready to leave. They will be fully weaned, litter trained, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and examined by a veterinarian. Adoption day can be a local pickup or arranged shipping/delivery depending on your location.

Pricing and Costs

We believe in transparent pricing. Each kitten is priced based on pedigree, color, and temperament, but all come with the same level of care and support. This price includes everything listed above. Shipping and delivery costs are calculated separately and explained on the Shipping and Delivery page.

Preparing for Your Kitten

To ensure your new Oriental Shorthair settles smoothly, we recommend having the following ready:

• A quiet, safe room for the first few days of transition

• Food and water bowls

• High-quality kitten food (we provide a starter bag of the food they’re used to)

• Litter box with fine clumping litter

• Scratching posts and climbing structures

• Interactive toys

• A soft bed or blanket
